GREBNELLAW
Grebnellaw is a live act and the artistic vehicle - an explosion in red and white, electronic sounds and fantastical costumes - of Swedish artist Nosslo-Grebnellaw Aniluap, founded in Stockholm 2012. The music of Grebnellaw is supported by a spectacular stage performance specially tailored towards each venue and occasion.
“We put a lot of effort into making each show we do a unique experience that cannot be repeated and we have put a bold mark on every stage we’ve set our foot on, from obscure festivals, concerts in clubs, to more elaborate performances in art galleries and museums.”
Most recently for the exhibition ‘Acclimatize’ at the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, a music performance named ‘Sperming the Planet’ was developed, focusing around climate change and sustainability. Grebnellaw has an ongoing love affair with Shanghai and collaborated on two occasions with Basemen6 Collective and with the Chinese artist Chen Tianzhou for a performance Adaha II at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Grebnellaw was also a part of one of the legendary Asian Dope Boys Parties in Chengdu and also conceived a special performance for Bank Gallery called ‘Paobao’.
Grebnellaw has performed around the world in the following contexts; Under Bron (SWE) Slakthuset (SWE) Kåken (SWE) Stockholm Music&Arts (SWE) Louvre (FR) Fondation Cartier (FR) Vogue Fabrics (UK) Dalston Superstore (UK) SOHO House (UK) Moderna Museet (SWE) Camp Cosmic (SWE) King Kong Club (DE) Bank Gallery (CN) Yuyintang (CN) Brew&Blend Festival (CN) Basement 6 Collective (CN) Grebnellaw regularly works with the dragact Duoraw at their genderbender club evening ‘Obscene Fridays’ in Stockholm. As Noteworthy side projects Nosslo Grebnellaw-Aniluap is a guest teacher in ‘Experiments with Form’ at Beckmans College of Design. Lately Grebnellaw has added more frequent Djing and hosting (of course in a unique one of a kind costume) to its repertoire. Since 2015 Grebnellaw is a member of ‘Upfront Producer Network’, a female network aiming to introduce more women as music producers into the music industry.
