Description
Meet your guide at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station Exit 13 and travel north toward the DMZ area. Visit the Third Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and Imjingak according to the scheduled route.
Begin with a visit to the Third Infiltration Tunnel, one of the most widely known historical sites in the area. The tunnel was discovered in the 1970s and later opened as part of the designated visitor route. Today, it remains one of the key locations for travelers who want to better understand the military and political history of the Korean Peninsula.
During the visit, enter the area according to the designated route and local regulations. The tunnel environment is different from a standard sightseeing attraction. Certain sections may involve walking on slopes or through enclosed underground areas, so comfortable footwear is recommended. The exact access route may be adjusted according to on-site safety requirements and local management regulations.
Next, continue to Dora Observatory. The observatory is located near the DMZ and offers a distinctive viewpoint over the surrounding border area. From the observation area, visitors may be able to see parts of the landscape beyond the immediate DMZ surroundings, depending on visibility and weather conditions.
The actual viewing experience may vary due to fog, haze, rain, seasonal weather, or other natural conditions. Long-distance views cannot be guaranteed. Photography restrictions or other local regulations may also apply in certain areas. Please follow the rules announced or displayed on-site.
The stop at Dora Observatory forms an important part of the overall DMZ experience, offering a different perspective from the underground tunnel visit.
The scheduled DMZ route also includes Imjingak. Imjingak is one of the most well-known locations connected with the history of the divided Korean Peninsula and is frequently included in visits to the DMZ region. The site provides a different atmosphere compared with the Third Infiltration Tunnel and Dora Observatory.
While the tunnel focuses on underground military history and the observatory focuses on the surrounding border landscape, Imjingak presents another perspective on the history, memory, and lasting impact of division. Visitors can explore the areas included in the scheduled route during the allocated sightseeing time.
After completing the DMZ portion of the day, enjoy approximately one hour for lunch at your own expense before continuing to Paju Outlet, where you will have around 1.5 hours of free time for shopping.
In the late afternoon, return to Seoul and finish the trip at the designated meeting/drop-off point.
