2017 World AeroPress Championship in Seoul!

Ready, set, press! The world’s most light-hearted and inclusive coffee-making competition is coming to Seoul.

On November 9th 2017, over 60 national AeroPress champions will converge in Seoul to battle for the questionably-glorious title of ‘2017 World AeroPress Champion’ and this is your opportunity to cheer them on - all the while partying into the night.

This most curious of events will take place at Cafe Alver (알베르), located in the so-hip-it-hurts neighbourhood of Gangnam, and the organisers are pulling out all the stops. Remember when you were young and the cool kids hosted the most awesome party in town but you missed out on it because you were afraid that you weren’t ‘hip’ enough? Well, that’s okay. You have a chance to make up for it. You’re hip enough now, we promise.

To make it to Korea, each champion has defeated many national counterparts from a global field of several thousands of competitors by brewing a cup of AeroPress coffee so damned delicious it would make the Starbucks mermaid weep.

Spectators can expect some of Seoul’s finest food trucks, copious amounts of free beer from Magpie Brewing Co., and a night of all round fun. Superstar MCs will be there to guide you through the action and ten of coffee's finest talents will be on hand to judge. Music from local treasure, the duo that is DJ Homework, will keep your feet moving. The 2017 World AeroPress Championship welcomes all living things (human only, please) to join in on some casual merrymaking as the national champions plunge their way towards glory.
