Event Details

Korea’s Feminist Movement: Past and Present On May 17th, in a Gangnam co-ed bathroom, a man waited and killed the first woman he encountered, primarily for being a woman. The murder sparked nation-wide debates on feminism, misogyny, and discrimination. It brought into public consciousness the daily fears and violence suffered by women and other minorities. All are welcome. (The lecture will be held with simultaneous interpretation in Korean and English.) Lecturer: Park Ji-A (Director of Gender Equality Education Center)
