Maison Hermès Dosan Park

Rene Dumas' 3,000 sq m double-glass cube of shimmering, glided strips is deceptively simple. Solid as it seems, the building is hollowed out from the top to bottom to form a central courtyard visible from the two lassed-sides of the interior.

As well as every eccessory you could want, the brand temple houses a gallery of contemporary art and the basement Promenade Museum displays objets d'art from estate of the Hermès family.

Designed by Hilton McConnico, the interior space is a futuristic forest of leather trees, the prcious Hermès curious nestled in the trunks.

Feeding Seoul's consumer fervour, the store was the first stage of a movement that could yet rival Tokyo's branded architectural innovation.
