Description
If you're looking to explore Korea beyond the typical tourist destinations, our Home Visit Program offers a unique and meaningful opportunity to connect with Korean culture on a personal level. Rather than simply observing from a distance, you’ll be welcomed into a real Korean home filled with warmth, tradition, and genuine human connection. With over 12,000 trusted hosts across Korea and more than 30,000 participants from around the world, this experience has touched countless lives through unforgettable cultural exchange and shared memories.
Have you ever wondered what everyday life is like in Korea — how families live, what they eat, and how they spend time together? Our program opens the door to just that. You'll step into a Korean home and spend a few meaningful hours with a local family who’s eager to welcome you in. This isn’t a tour — it’s an invitation to be part of their daily life.
From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted with genuine hospitality, warmth, and curiosity. Many of our guests say it feels less like visiting strangers and more like being reunited with long-lost relatives. That sense of deep emotional connection is central to Korean culture — it’s called 정 (jeong). Jeong is a uniquely Korean concept of affection, closeness, and an unspoken bond formed through shared experience. During your visit, you won’t just hear about jeong — you’ll feel it.
Food is at the heart of Korean life, and one of the most cherished parts of this program is the shared home-cooked meal. Together with your host, you'll learn to prepare classic Korean dishes like Bibimbap, Kimbap, or Bulgogi. These meals aren’t prepared by chefs, but by everyday families using recipes passed down through generations — making each bite feel like a warm embrace.
But cooking and eating together is more than just delicious — it's a bonding experience. In Korean culture, sharing food is an expression of care, love, and connection. As you chop vegetables or stir sauces, conversations naturally flow — about ingredients, memories, and everyday life. This is where the most authentic cultural learning happens — not from textbooks or museums, but over a shared table and heartfelt conversation.
But there’s more to the experience than just food. Our 4-hour Home Visit option is packed with opportunities to immerse yourself in Korean traditions and lifestyle. Depending on your host, you might try on hanbok, or learn to write heartfelt messages in Hangul. You could play traditional games like yutnori or tuho, listen to stories about Korea’s rich history, or simply have deep, heartfelt conversations about everyday life, family, and dreams.
It’s not every day you find hosts who open their homes and their hearts to strangers. Carefully selected hosts go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued. They are curious about your life and culture, and equally excited to share their own.
