Begin your walking tour of Seoul at the Old and New City Hall, where you'll learn about the scale and feng-shui (geomancy) of old Hanyang. Admire the British Anglican Cathedral and view photos of the Korean War. Continue to the restored Cheonggye-cheon Stream and explore the historical monuments at Seoul Plaza. Next, visit the Gyeongbok-gung Main Royal Palace and see folklore and shamanism artifacts at the palace's rear exit. Enjoy a Korean lunch (optional, at your own expense) before heading to Bukchon Hanok Village. Wander through the traditional alleyways and visit the inside of an old mansion. Next, visit the Jogye-sa Buddhist Temple and Museum, the national headquarters of Korean Buddhism. Stop at the TempleStay Center before heading to Insa-dong, a traditional-culture street. Enjoy some souvenir shopping or tea-drinking if desired. End your tour at Tap-gol Park, home to 20th-century Independence Movement shrines and a pagoda.
