Meet your instructor, a Gayageum performer and teacher who has performed in many concerts and has years of experience teaching the Gayageum to children, adults, and international students.
During this 50-minute session, learn the basics of Gayageum playing in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Begin with a brief introduction to the history of the instrument and its role in Korean traditional music.
Then, sit with your own Gayageum and learn simple playing techniques such as how to pluck the strings and create expressive sounds. Step by step, be guided through a short and easy melody so you can experience playing Korean music yourself.
This experience is designed for beginners, so no musical background is required. Many guests are surprised by how quickly they can create beautiful sounds on the Gayageum.
At the end of the experience, have time to take photos with the instrument and remember your special Korean music experience in Seoul.
