Description
Are you looking for things to do in Seoul?
Here is a unique activity you can do in Seoul!
Discover Korea’s traditional folk painting, Minhwa, in the vibrant neighborhood of Itaewon, Seoul.
In this relaxed cultural experience, you’ll visit a cozy Korean-style art studio and create your own artwork while learning the stories behind traditional symbols. Minhwa paintings were historically displayed in homes to bring good fortune, protection, and happiness, making them a meaningful souvenir from your trip.
Your local host will guide you step by step, so beginners are very welcome. You can choose a classic motif such as the famous Hojakdo (tiger and magpie), peony flowers symbolizing prosperity, still-life paintings, or the elegant moon jar design. Colors and details can be personalized, allowing you to create a unique piece of Korean art.
As you paint, you’ll hear about Korean aesthetics, symbolism, and how these artworks were used in everyday life. Rather than a formal lesson, this is a calm and social experience where travelers relax, create, and connect with Korean culture.
At the end of the session, you’ll take your finished painting home as a handmade souvenir from Seoul.
