Description

The Korean War ended in 1953 with a cease-fire agreement, leaving behind the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a buffer area that still embodies the reality of national division. Today, the DMZ stands as one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world, yet it is also a place of peace, history, and reflection. This tour allows you to see the DMZ’s most iconic sites in a single day, offering a powerful glimpse into Korea’s past and present. Your journey begins with a convenient morning hotel pickup from Seoul, followed by a scenic drive to Imjingak. Upon arrival, explore Imjingak Park, a symbolic space dedicated to the history of the Korean War and hope for reunification. From here you can overlook the Imjin River and historical landscapes near the border. Also here, you can optional add-on with extra fees to enjoy a Peace Gondola ride across the Imjin River. Next, we will arrive at Camp Greaves, a former U.S. military base used during the Korean War with many Cold War‑era relics reserved such as barracks, military facilities and more. Today, it has been transformed into a peace‑culture experience site, featuring exhibitions and interactive programs. It carries extra charm for having served as a filming location for popular Korean dramas such as . After having free time and optional lunch time around Imjingak, the tour continues deeper into the Third Infiltration Tunnel, a secret military passage discovered in the 1970s, dug by North Korea during the Cold War, over 1.6 km long. Visitors don a safety helmet and descend into the cramped, dimly lit tunnel, experiencing firsthand the claustrophobic conditions. Lastly, head to the Dora Observatory, sits at the highest point of the DMZ northern line and is one of the rare public spots where you can peer into North Korea through telescopes. On clear days, powerful binoculars can reveal North Korean border towns including Kaesong and even statues of Kim Il-sung. As the day comes to an end, you’ll return to Seoul in the evening, carrying with you an unforgettable experience of Korea’s divided history and a deeper understanding of the significance of the DMZ.
