Woodstock, in Gangnam, Seoul, Korea. The friendliest bar you'll find in Seoul! Who cares if you can't find a chair--grab a drink and join the party!
Exit 10 Gangnam, walk straight to Giordano shop, turn left and walk to Dunkin Donuts; turn right, look up and you'll see Woodstock on your upper left!
Woodstock in Gangnam, Seoul is one of the last foreigner-friendly bars left in Gangnam, Woodstock continues to pump out music from the 1920's right up to today's modern rock, reggae and metal. They are proud to be a small, casual establishment housing a good selection of bottled beers, draft beer, spirits and cocktails. Where else in Gangnam can you get a 5,000won beer, free pretzels, request your favourite songs and converse with friendly staff? Want to reminisce with your friends (old and new) by listening to music from younger days? From Elvis to Adele, Johnny Cash to Garth Brooks, Malmsteen to Satriani: we have your music tastes covered. And a large potion of it on LPs. That's right, one of the last bars to be using original LP's as other bars digitize their own music selections.
The bar is set up in such a way as to make it easy to push tables together for a group or pull them apart for a more intimate evening. They pride ourselves on their friendly staff who will treat you like family once they know your name. This neighborhood hangout encourages people to become regulars, whether you present yourself alone, with a partner or in a group. Come sit at the bar and discuss music with the DJ, play soft-tip darts with your friends or wait for an opportunity to limbo the night away for free drinks.
Every Sunday night they host an Acoustic Night where you are welcome to take advantage of the microphone, the house guitar and the amp from 7:30 to 9:30 and in doing so, enjoy some free beer. Or just come by and listen to their bar-famous rock stars play their originals or any number of popular covers...a perfect way to spend a Sunday evening, followed by the usual hullabaloo after the amp is turned off. Come by and find a home away from home.
