Best Highstreet Fashion Stores in Garosu-gil Street

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Seoul team

Korea has rapidly become a battleground for global 'fast fashion', the affordable high street fashion stores. In 2006, Japanese brand Uniqlo arrived in Korea, followed by America's Forever 21, Spain's Zara in 2008 and Sweden's H&M in 2009.

Most recently, casual brand Abercrombie & Fitch has decided to open stores in Korea, and the U.K.'s Topshop is in talks with importer Cheil Industries (Samsung) to open a store here. The Korean fashion market is exploding. Foreign brands that have opened stores in Korea have seen sales skyrocket prompting them to have positive expectations of the market's growth potential. Besides a large number of foreign brands, Korean brands such as Codes Combine, LeShop, E-land, SPAO and MIXXO are all still in the game and fighting to stay afloat. Samsung's newest brand: 8 Seconds is a good example of a Korean brand trying to captivate it's customers in 8 seconds, hence the name.
