Ssamzigil

Ssamzigil is a unique shopping experience located in the corner of Insadong. It is constructed as an open-space, spiral shopping mall complex with green plants and vines surrounding the building and small, romantic cafes and designer boutiques inside the mall. It is a small oasis of tranquility in the centre of Seoul.

Handicrafts and other items, sold in the boutiques, are all handmade very unique.

Ssamzigil opened up on December 18, 2004 and ever since, it has been marked as the 'Special Insadong within Insa-dong'. Ssamziegil covers 42,700sq. ft. with over 70 shops including handicraft stores, souvenir shops, art galleries, restaurants, etc.

Insadong covers a short stretch of street where you can find Korean traditional snacks peddling on pushcarts and plentiful traditional handcraft shops and restaurants. It is a recommended place to visit in urban Seoul, if you like all things traditional.
