Namsangol Hanok Village

Seoul

Landmarks Outdoor and Adventure

Namsangol Hanok Village, located east of Myeongdong, near Chungmuro station, is a small display village of five traditional Hanok buildings.

This beautiful village is composed of three parts; a traditional Korean garden, Time Capsule Plaza and the village itself.

Hanoks (traditional Korean houses) from the Joseon Dynasty were moved to this village and restored to recrete this traditional village. Visitors can try traditional Koran games and see the re-enactment of a traditional Korean wedding ceremony.

This is a good choice for visitors with little time to spare. The complex is particulary enchanting in the evening, when its wooden buildings are illuminated by stings of red and blue paper lanterns.

Further up past the entrance - and past Namsan Gugakgang (one of Seoul's bes venues for traditional music), is a web of grassy trails, leading all the way up to Mount Namsan.
